TV presenter Simon Thomas has celebrated one year of sobriety, crediting the decision to give up alcohol as the best he’s ever made. The former Blue Peter and Sky Sports host, who is also the president of Blood Cancer UK, took to Instagram to discuss his struggles with alcoholism.

Thomas explained that he began drinking as a way of coping with fame, and that his drinking “took a dark turn” following the sudden death of his first wife from cancer in 2017. He said: “I was plunged into a world of fear, pain and darkness…I could sit in the pain no longer and I turned to the booze. It became an expression of me. It was all or nothing. I had no off switch. This wasn’t something I was proud of, and as a Christian I felt ashamed. As the years went on, alcohol became my social mask. I wasn’t comfortable in my own skin. The answer – drink.”

In the Instagram post, Thomas credits Christian Vision for Men President Carl Beech with encouraging him to try sobriety, and says that the key to his success was wanting to do it for himself, not for others.

The father of two, who remarried in 2021, said he hoped his story would encourage others who may be struggling with addiction.

As Christians, we believe that Jesus is more than just a historical figure or a religious leader. He is the Son of God, and His life, death, and resurrection have changed the course of history and the lives of millions of people. But who is Jesus, really? And what makes Him so significant? In this blog post, we will explore the identity and significance of Jesus Christ in the context of the Christian faith.

First, let’s consider who Jesus is. According to the Christian faith, Jesus is the Son of God, who came to earth as a human being in the form of a baby. He was born of the Virgin Mary in Bethlehem, and grew up to become a teacher, healer, and miracle worker. Jesus’ message was one of love, forgiveness, and redemption, and He taught about the Kingdom of God and the importance of living a life of righteousness.

But Jesus was more than just a great teacher. He was also God in human form, known as the Incarnation. This means that Jesus was fully God and fully human, united in one person. He was able to fully understand and experience the human condition, and He was able to offer Himself as a sacrifice for the sins of humanity. This is known as the doctrine of atonement, which teaches that Jesus took upon Himself the punishment for our sins, so that we could be reconciled to God.

The significance of Jesus lies in His death and resurrection. Jesus willingly allowed Himself to be crucified, taking upon Himself the punishment for the sins of the world. But He did not stay dead. Three days later, Jesus rose from the dead, defeating death and offering the hope of eternal life to all who believe in Him. This event, known as the resurrection, is a central tenet of the Christian faith, and it demonstrates Jesus’ power and authority over all things.

Through His death and resurrection, Jesus offers salvation to all who believe in Him. By accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior, we can have our sins forgiven and be reconciled to God. We can also have the hope of eternal life, knowing that we will one day be with Jesus in heaven.

So, what does it mean to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior? It means recognizing that we are sinners in need of a savior, and believing that Jesus is the only one who can save us. It means confessing our sins and asking for forgiveness, and committing ourselves to following Jesus and living according to His teachings. It also means trusting in His death and resurrection as the means of our salvation.

By accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior, we are not just confessing a set of beliefs, but entering into a personal relationship with God. We become His children, and He becomes our Father. We are no longer alone, but part of a larger family of believers who are also following Jesus. This is known as the body of Christ, and it is a community of believers who are united in their love for God and their commitment to following Jesus.

In conclusion, Jesus is more than just a historical figure or a religious leader. He is the Son of God, who came to earth to offer salvation and the hope of eternal life to all who believe in Him. By understanding the identity and significance of Jesus, we can better understand the core teachings of the Christian faith and how they apply to our own lives. We can also enter into a personal relationship with God, and become part of the body of Christ. By accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior, we can experience the forgiveness, love, and hope that He offers to all who believe in Him.

For believers, Jesus is much more than just a historical figure or a religious leader. He is the Son of God, the savior of the world, and the source of our hope and salvation. In this blog post, we will explore who Jesus is, and consider the significance of His identity for our faith.

Keywords: Jesus, Son of God, savior, hope, salvation, deity, human, Philippians 2:5-11, Colossians 1:15-20, John 3:16

  1. Who is Jesus? Jesus is the Son of God.

One of the central truths of Christian faith is that Jesus is the Son of God. This means that Jesus is fully God and fully human, and that He is the unique and eternal Son of God. Philippians 2:5-11 says, “In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” This passage suggests that Jesus is fully God and fully human, and that He willingly humbled Himself and took on human form in order to redeem and save humanity.

  1. Who is Jesus? Jesus is the savior of the world.

Another important aspect of Jesus’ identity is that He is the savior of the world. This means that Jesus came to earth to redeem and save humanity from sin and death. Colossians 1:15-20 says, “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.” This passage suggests that Jesus is the creator and sustainer of the universe, and that He came to earth to reconcile humanity to God through His death on the cross.

  1. Who is Jesus? Jesus is the source of our hope and salvation.

Finally, Jesus is the source of our hope and salvation. When we put our faith in Jesus and accept His sacrifice on the cross as payment for our sins, we are reconciled to God and given the gift of eternal life. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” This verse reminds us that Jesus is the source of our hope and salvation, and that through faith in Him, we can have eternal life.

In conclusion, Jesus is the Son of God, the savior of the world, and the source of our hope and salvation. His identity as fully God and fully human is central to the Christian faith, and through His death on the cross and resurrection, He reconciled humanity to God and provided us with the gift of eternal life. As we consider the question of “Who is Jesus?”, let us remember that He is the source of our hope and salvation, and let us seek to follow Him and put our faith in Him.

As believers, we are called to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33). But what does it mean to have a Kingdom mindset, and how can we cultivate this perspective in our daily lives? In this blog post, we will explore what it means to have a Kingdom mindset, and how this mindset can shape our priorities, values, and actions.

Keywords: Kingdom mindset, Kingdom of God, righteousness, priorities, values, actions, biblical perspective, Christ-centered living

First, let’s consider what it means to have a Kingdom mindset. Essentially, it means seeing the world through the lens of the Kingdom of God, and aligning our priorities and values with those of God. It means seeking to understand God’s perspective on the world, and allowing His values to shape our actions and decisions.

Having a Kingdom mindset involves putting God’s priorities first. This means making Him the center of our lives, and seeking to honor Him in all we do. It also means recognizing that God is in control, and trusting in His sovereignty and wisdom. By putting God first, we can align our lives with His will and purpose.

Having a Kingdom mindset also means embracing God’s values and priorities. These values include love, compassion, justice, and righteousness, and they are reflected in the teachings of Jesus and the examples of His life. By living according to these values, we can reflect the character of God and make a positive impact on the world around us.

So, how can we cultivate a Kingdom mindset in our daily lives? Here are a few suggestions:

  1. Seek a biblical perspective. In order to have a Kingdom mindset, we need to understand what the Bible has to say about God’s perspective on the world. This means regularly reading and studying the Bible, and seeking to understand its teachings and apply them to our lives. By immersing ourselves in the Word, we can gain a better understanding of God’s character and priorities.
  2. Practice Christ-centered living. Another way to cultivate a Kingdom mindset is by striving to live a Christ-centered life. This means making Jesus the center of our lives, and seeking to follow His example and teachings in all we do. It means living out the values of the Kingdom, such as love, compassion, and justice, and allowing these values to shape our actions and decisions.
  3. Focus on the things that matter most. Another key aspect of having a Kingdom mindset is focusing on the things that matter most. This means prioritizing our time and resources in a way that aligns with God’s priorities. It means seeking to use our gifts and abilities to serve God and others, and making a positive impact in the world. It also means recognizing that our time on earth is temporary, and seeking to invest in eternal things that will last beyond our earthly lives.
  1. Practice kingdom-minded prayer. Another way to cultivate a Kingdom mindset is by praying in a way that aligns with God’s priorities. This means seeking to understand what God is doing in the world, and praying for His will to be done. It also means interceding for others, and praying for the needs of those around us. By praying in this way, we can become more attuned to God’s perspective and priorities.

In conclusion, having a Kingdom mindset means seeing the world through the lens of the Kingdom of God, and aligning our priorities and values with those of God. It involves putting God’s priorities first, embracing His values and priorities, focusing on the things that matter most, and practicing kingdom-minded prayer. By cultivating a Kingdom mindset, we can better understand God’s perspective on the world, and live in a way that reflects His character and purposes.

For believers, the Bible is a sacred text that contains the Word of God and serves as a guide for our lives. But what is the Bible, exactly? In this blog post, we will explore the nature and origins of the Bible, and consider its significance for our faith.

  1. The Bible is a collection of 66 books. The Bible is divided into two main sections: the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament contains 39 books, and is primarily focused on the history and teachings of the Hebrew people. The New Testament contains 27 books, and is focused on the life, teachings, and ministry of Jesus and the early Christian church. Together, these 66 books make up the canon of scripture, or the accepted collection of texts that are considered divinely inspired and authoritative for believers.
  2. The Bible is a divinely inspired text. For believers, the Bible is not just a collection of human writings, but is a divinely inspired text that contains the Word of God. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” This passage suggests that the Bible is not just a human text, but is inspired by God and useful for our spiritual growth and development.
  3. The Bible has authority in the lives of believers. For believers, the Bible is not just a book to be studied, but is a source of authority and guidance for our lives. 2 Peter 1:20-21 says, “Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” This passage suggests that the Bible is not just a human text, but is inspired by God and carries His authority.
  1. The Bible is relevant for all people, at all times. One of the unique qualities of the Bible is its timeless relevance. Matthew 5:17-18 says, “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.” This passage suggests that the Bible is relevant for all people, at all times, and that it contains timeless truths that are applicable to our lives.
  2. The Bible is a source of truth and guidance. For believers, the Bible is a source of truth and guidance. John 10:35 says, “The Scripture cannot be broken.” This passage suggests that the Bible is a reliable and trustworthy source of truth. By reading and studying the Bible, we can better understand God’s will and purpose for our lives.

In conclusion, the Bible is a sacred text that contains the Word of God and serves as a guide for our lives. It is a divinely inspired text that has authority in the lives of believers, is relevant for all people, at all times, and is a source of truth and guidance. By reading and studying the Bible, we can better understand God’s will and purpose for our lives.

As Christians, we often talk about sin, but what exactly is it? Sin is often defined as any thought, word, or action that is against God’s will or that falls short of His standard of perfection. In this blog post, we will explore what the Bible says about sin, and consider the implications of sin for our lives.

  1. Sin is any thought, word, or action that is against God’s will or that falls short of His standard of perfection.

According to the Bible, sin is any thought, word, or action that is against God’s will or that falls short of His standard of perfection. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” This verse suggests that sin is anything that falls short of God’s standard of perfection, and that all people are guilty of sin. Romans 6:23 adds, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” This verse suggests that the consequences of sin are death, but that through faith in Jesus, we can receive the gift of eternal life.

  1. Sin separates us from God.

In addition to falling short of God’s standard of perfection, sin also separates us from God. 1 John 1:8-9 says, “If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” This passage suggests that sin separates us from God and that through confession and repentance, we can be forgiven and purified. Ephesians 2:1-3 adds, “As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath.” This passage suggests that sin causes us to be dead in our transgressions and that it separates us from God.

  1. Sin can be forgiven through faith in Jesus.

Finally, the good news is that sin can be forgiven through faith in Jesus. When we accept Jesus as our savior and put our faith in Him, He takes our sin upon Himself and gives us His righteousness. This is known as justification, and it is a free gift that is given to us through faith. As Christians, it is important that we confess our sins, turn away from them, and put our trust in Jesus for forgiveness and salvation.

In conclusion, sin is any thought, word, or action that is against God’s will or that falls short of His standard of perfection. Sin separates us from God and leads to death, but through faith in Jesus, we can be forgiven and reconciled to God. As Christians, it is important that we confess our sins, turn away from them, and put our trust in Jesus for forgiveness and salvation. May we seek to live lives that are pleasing to God and that honor His will and standard of perfection.

Grace is a concept that is central to the Christian faith, but it can also be difficult to understand. In its simplest form, grace is the unmerited favor and love of God. It is the gift of salvation that God offers to us, even though we do not deserve it and cannot earn it. In this blog post, we will explore what the Bible says about grace, and consider the implications of grace for our lives.

  1. Grace is the unmerited favor and love of God.

According to the Bible, grace is the unmerited favor and love of God. It is a gift that God offers to us, even though we do not deserve it and cannot earn it. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” This verse suggests that grace is a gift that is given to us through faith, and that it is not something that we can earn through our own efforts or good works.

  1. Grace is the source of our salvation.

In addition to being the unmerited favor and love of God, grace is also the source of our salvation. Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” This verse suggests that even though we are sinners and do not deserve it, God offers us salvation through the death of His Son, Jesus Christ. Titus 3:4-7 adds, “But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.” This passage suggests that God saves us through His mercy and grace, and that through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, we are justified and made heirs of eternal life.

  1.  Grace empowers us to live for God.

Finally, grace not only saves us, but it also empowers us to live for God. As believers, we are called to follow Jesus and live lives that honor and glorify God. This can be difficult, but through the power of grace, we can overcome sin and temptation, and live lives that are pleasing to God. As we seek to follow Jesus and live for Him, let us remember that it is by grace that we are saved, and let us give thanks to God for His unmerited favor and love.

In conclusion, grace is the unmerited favor and love of God, and it is the source of our salvation. Through grace, we are empowered to live for God and follow Jesus. May we seek to understand and appreciate the significance of grace in our lives, and may we give thanks to God for His unending love and mercy. As we consider the question of “What is grace?”, let us remember that it is a gift from God, and let us seek to live lives that honor and glorify Him.

As believers, we are called to follow Jesus and live out our faith in all aspects of our lives. But in today’s fast-paced and often challenging world, this can be easier said than done. We are bombarded with distractions, temptations, and conflicting messages, and it can be difficult to stay focused on what truly matters. So, what does it mean to be a follower of Jesus in the 21st century, and how can we stay true to our faith while engaging with the modern world?

First, let’s consider what it means to follow Jesus. This involves more than just believing in Him and attending church on Sunday. It means living out His values and teachings in our daily lives, and striving to become more like Him. This includes loving God and our neighbors, serving others, and seeking righteousness and justice. It means making Jesus the center of our lives and allowing Him to transform us from the inside out.

So, how can we live out our faith in today’s world? Here are a few suggestions:

  1. Stay grounded in the Word. In order to follow Jesus, we need to know who He is and what He has called us to do. This means regularly reading and studying the Bible, and seeking to understand and apply its teachings to our lives. The Bible is our source of truth and guidance, and it provides the foundation for our faith. By immersing ourselves in the Word, we can stay rooted in what is most important and avoid being swayed by the shifting winds of popular culture.
  2. Seek personal growth. Being a follower of Jesus means continually striving to become more like Him. This involves growing in our relationship with God, and also working on our own personal development. This could mean taking steps to overcome bad habits, developing new skills, or working on our character. It’s important to remember that we are all works in progress, and there is always room for improvement. By making an effort to grow and change, we can become more effective followers of Jesus.
  3. Make an impact in your community. Following Jesus also means living out His values and teachings in the broader community. This could mean serving others through volunteering or charitable work, or speaking out for justice and righteousness. We are called to be light in the world, and to make a positive difference wherever we go. By living out the Gospel in our daily lives, we can make a positive impact on those around us and be a force for good in the world.

A Christian brand that is all about helping people to develop a Kingdom mindset. But what exactly does that mean, and why is it so important?

At Churxh, we believe that Kingdom mindset is the combination of three key elements: identity, relationships, and practices. By focusing on these areas, we believe that anyone can live a fulfilling and purpose-driven life that is aligned with God’s kingdom. Here’s a closer look at each of these three components:

Identity: Understanding Who You Are in God’s Kingdom

One of the key components of Kingdom mindset is understanding your identity and purpose in God’s kingdom. This involves building a strong relationship with God and learning more about how He has uniquely designed and purposed you. As you grow closer to Him, you’ll start to see your full potential and the impact you can make in the world.

But many people struggle to grasp their true identity in God’s kingdom. They may feel lost or uncertain about their place in the world, or they may have a distorted view of themselves that doesn’t align with God’s truth. That’s where Churxh comes in.

Through our resources and teachings, we help people to discover their true identity in God’s kingdom. We believe that every person has a unique and valuable role to play in building God’s kingdom on earth, and we want to help people to tap into that potential. Whether you’re just starting out on your journey or you’re looking to deepen your relationship with God, Churxh has something to offer you.

Relationships: Surrounding Yourself with Like-Minded People

Another key component of Kingdom mindset is your relationships with others. We believe that you are the sum of your five closest friends, and that the people you choose to surround yourself with will have a big impact on your life.

At Churxh, we encourage people to surround themselves with like-minded individuals who are also focused on living out their purpose in God’s kingdom. This could include friends, family, mentors, and other supportive individuals who can help you to grow and thrive.

But building and maintaining positive relationships isn’t always easy. It takes effort, time, and commitment. That’s why Churxh offers a range of resources and tools to help people to build and maintain strong, healthy relationships. From our blog articles and podcasts to our online community and in-person events, we provide a variety of ways for people to connect and build relationships with others who share their values and vision.

Practices: Nourishing Your Mind, Body, and Spirit

The final component of Kingdom mindset is your practices – the things you do on a daily basis to nourish your mind, body, and spirit. This could include things like prayer, affirmations, fasting, gratitude, worship, and even taking care of your physical health through things like exercise and healthy eating.

At Churxh, we believe that these practices are essential for maintaining a strong connection with God and living a fulfilling life. That’s why we offer a range of resources and tools to help people to incorporate these practices into their daily routines. From our daily devotional emails to our online courses and in-person retreats, we provide a variety of ways for people to nurture their mind, body, and spirit.

As believers, we are called to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33). But what does it mean to have a Kingdom mindset, and how can this mindset transform our lives? In this blog post, we will explore the power of a Kingdom mindset, and how aligning with God’s priorities can bring about profound transformation in our lives.

Keywords: Kingdom mindset, Kingdom of God, righteousness, priorities, transformation, God’s will, joy, peace, purpose, Matthew 6:33

According to Jesus, seeking first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness is the most important thing we can do (Matthew 6:33). But what does this mean, and how can we put this into practice in our daily lives? Essentially, it means putting God’s priorities first, and aligning our values and actions with those of God. It means seeking to understand God’s perspective on the world, and allowing His will to guide our decisions and actions.

So, what are the benefits of having a Kingdom mindset? Here are just a few:

  1. A sense of joy and peace. When we align our lives with God’s priorities, we can experience a deep sense of joy and peace. This is because we are living according to His will, and not our own. When we seek first the Kingdom of God, we can trust that He has a plan for our lives, and that everything is working together for our good (Romans 8:28).
  2. A sense of purpose and direction. Aligning with God’s priorities can also give us a sense of purpose and direction. When we seek to understand His will for our lives, and live according to His values, we can find meaning and purpose in all that we do. This can give us a sense of direction and focus, and help us to live with intention and purpose.
  3. The opportunity to make a positive impact. When we have a Kingdom mindset, we are more likely to be focused on serving others and making a positive impact in the world. By living according to God’s values, such as love, compassion, and justice, we can make a difference in the lives of those around us, and bring glory to God.

Practicing Christ-centered living involves aligning our hearts and minds with Jesus, and seeking to honor Him in all we do.
  3. Surround yourself with like-minded people. Finally, cultivating a Kingdom mindset can be aided by surrounding ourselves with like-minded people who also seek to follow Jesus and live according to His values. By being part of a community of believers who share our values and priorities, we can encourage and support one another in living out the Kingdom of God.

In conclusion, the power of a Kingdom mindset lies in its ability to transform our lives. By aligning with God’s priorities and seeking first the Kingdom of God, we can experience a deep sense of joy, peace, and purpose. We can also make a positive impact in the world, and bring glory to God. By following these five steps, we can take practical steps towards cultivating a Kingdom mindset in our daily lives, and experience the transformative power of aligning with God’s priorities.

As we seek to cultivate a Kingdom mindset, it’s important to remember that this is a journey, and we may not always get it right. But by seeking God’s guidance and grace, and asking Him to help us align our hearts and minds with His, we can take steps towards living a life that reflects His character and purposes.

So let us seek first the Kingdom of God, and allow His priorities and values to shape our lives. As we do, we can experience the transformative power of a Kingdom mindset, and make a positive impact in the world for His glory.
